Great Summer of 2011

2011 has been a great year. From traveling every weekend to being able to stay home with my daughter on the week days. I’m really lucky to have a amazing group of people behind me from sponsors, Friends and Family. It’s really amazing that I have been able to take my love for two wheels where I have.

Calgary Stampede 2011

For the third year in a row we have been performing at the Calgary Stampede. This year Heath Frisby, Ted Culbertson, Kenny Bell and I rode 30 Plus sold out shows. This show is one of the funnest shows of the year!

My Life

For the past two and a half weeks I have been hanging out at home from my crash at EK Days. For most people if they have a bad day at work, they go home and tomorrow is a new day. For Freestyle Motocross riders a bad day at work can be anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months on a couch, wheelchair, crutches ect.

For me It’s really hard to explain to people why I put myself in these dangerous situations. It’s not about the money or any sort of fame that has come from it.

It’s about the love of riding my motorcycle!

When I was in grade school Trent Vigus introduced me to Motorcycles and my life changed forever! I mowed lawns, shoveled sidewalks saving every penny I could get to buy my first motorcycle.

Once I got my first bike I was addicted, my life became consumed with it. I would push my bike to the end of our alley at 6am to go riding before school started. Once school got out, I would get back on my bike, only going home for gas and dinner.

I hated winter more and more. As a racer the odds of every going anywhere as a pro were almost impossible when you could only ride half the year if you were lucky.

Freestyle Motocross was no different. Trying to get good with long Montana winters and short summers felt unachievable. The one thing I have in me is I never give up. I’m so competitive and have always wanted to be the best no matter what I’m doing.

No matter how many times my bike slams me into the ground I have this unexplainable LOVE for It. It has sent me all over the world, Introduced me to some amazing people and great friends! It always puts a smile on my face.

Backflip Crash

First off I want to say I’m real sorry for this all happening this way.
The town of Butte is so amazing and supportive to me and my family. The last thing that I ever wanted to do was to crash doing this stunt. I practiced this for a few weeks and It has gone really well. So we decide to set everything up Friday night so I could hit it a few times to see how it felt. The first five jumps all went really well, with it getting later and the sun coming up in my eyes I decided to go ahead and do a backflip. My hand slipped off the handlebars when I pulled. I was lucky enough to stay calm and grabbed back on to the bars. When I landed I was sideways and high sided slamming my face and head into the ground.

I ended up breaking my nose, getting a concussion, whiplash, all kinds of road rash.

I would like to thank my wife, family and friends and all my sponsors who helped make this all happen for me and all my fans who have been so supportive to me!!

Evel Knievel Days Backflip

For the past 3 years I have been wanting to do a 100+ foot backflip at Evel Knievel days. Now for the last 8 months Chad Harrington and myself have been working on trying to figure out what I was going to flip over. So here it is. July 23, 2011 I will be backflipping my bike over Sparkys Garage. You better not miss it!
